Saturday Sep 23, 2023
WOW this one just blows me away. In this episode I am sitting down with Olympic Sailor Shirley Robertson where she shares her pathway into competition, motherhood and Olympic history.
As a fellow podcaster, and public speaker, her career in media saw Shirley become one of the sport’s pre-eminent television journalists. With gripping stories of drive, ambition and sporting success she has a repertoire of inspirational content that both engages and entertains the live audience, across a wide spectrum of events.
Shirley made this recording easy and openly tells me about the highs and lows of her career and the joy of expanding her family with twins.
She was the first British woman to claim consecutive Olympic Gold Medals, her career spanning the advent of success for the modern British Olympic movement. It's an inspirational story that started in the land locked hills of Clackmannanshire, Scotland.

So this is for the boat techies, the social sailors and the able sea people who want to spend more time enjoying their boat, instead of cleaning it. Today I am chatting with Lily and Tom from Hullbot, the innovative invention that uses robot technology to clean the hull of a boat, preventing the building up of barnacles and other erosive materials.
We explore the original concepts of rebot tech for the marine industry, the applications and use by boat owners and boat share companies. As a marine owner, I ask loads of questions about how this can help boat maintenance.

We all know that the calm melodic sounds of water lapping combined with the gentle rocking of the ocean waves will ensure a good nights sleep, but I'm here (in England) to share with you the secret of getting a great nights rest in the boating world. Heirlooms Linens is literally the Royal standard of bed and bath on boats.
Having held the Royal Warrant for the late Queen since 2005 and now King Charles' Royal Warrant since 2012, means you'll find Heirloom Linen in Royal palaces and residences if you are ever invited to sleep over.
Today I'm chatting with Ruth Douglas who oversees the continued traditions of crafting handmade linen products from only the finest Italian fabrics to create luxury linens of exceptional quality and lasting beauty
“Having used Heirlooms on two boats for bespoke bed, bath, table & crew linens, I would never go anywhere else. Their attention to detail, quality of product & customer service is second to none!”

Freedom Boat Club heads down under
Saturday Jun 17, 2023
Saturday Jun 17, 2023
In this episode I'm excited to speak with David Kurczewski, the General Manager Shared Services Asia-Pacific, at Freedom Boat Club with a special Australia First announcement.
Imagine taking the afternoon off and being able to step onto a boat at one of 5 new locations in Australia, enjoy the glassy waters and the afternoon sun before pulling back into the marina without another thought.
That is the freedom, The Freedom Boat Club provides across its' Global Franchise Network that spans 385+ locations around the world. Enabling members to go boating wherever there is a club when travelling. Spend the day cruising and enjoy access to various types of boats and onboard training without the hassle of maintenance, berthing costs or cleaning.
David shares with me his journey into the world of boating and his experiences that have continued to see The Freedom Boat Club grow, acquiring more boats every year to expand the options available to its' members. Freedom now has more than 5000 boats available to it’s members. What excites me most about bringing this brand to Australia is that in the US some 40% of members are female and I think the training provided on joining (including your boat licence if you need one here in Australia) and the fun events within the community are part of what attracts women to boating in this model. Given that’s what the Boat Princess is all about the alignment of this brand with ours makes massive sense.
Follow our clubs on Instagram or Facebook at @fbcsydneynorth and @fbchunter, call us on 02 9457 2000 or email us on curious@freedomboatclub.com
Or if you want to see more on a website you can visit, www.freedomboatclub.au
make sure you let them know The Boat Princess sent you so we can sort a special gift when you join :) x
